This piece from my `creatures of the deep sea - series` is a Nautilus. They have a compressed body and very large eyes and two dorsal spines on their back. They inhabit New Zealand and Australian deep waters (600-1200 metres)

I created this painting from self-made watercolours of sediment from the arctic deep sea in the north of Norway.

The sediment I have used for this painting comes from the Arctic Circle in Norway // Around Svalbard // May 2023 // water depth 4000 m
