Ecological Science and Fiction Art

I am passionate about highlighting the small,
often neglected worlds around us, bringing awareness to animals
and plants that are facing extinction, and drawing out the
intimate relationships that weave our planetary ecosystem together.
My art focuses on the affective and scientific exploration of nature,
and the wonderful small and large worlds within it.
I like to paint in great detail while embracing free-flowing structures and sometimes adding a
fictional touch to my artwork. Among my materials are watercolours, ink techniques, eco-plant printing
and many others; a key part of my practice involves creating my pigments from all kinds
of plants and stones to enhance the viewer’s connection to nature and enrich the narrative behind each artwork.
The materials I use are either hand-collected by me or my friends and colleagues in the natural sciences,
and sometimes even brought to the surface during deep-sea expeditions and volcanic research.
