For this artwork, I created a unique watercolour palette from plants, rocks, and earth clays collected in different countries. Many of the greens, blues, and yellows came from plants gathered in Tromsø, northern Spain, Portugal, and the Azores — including yarrow, hydrangea, various seaweeds, woad, and hibiscus. The brownish-black tones were created from volcanic rocks and earth clays sourced in New Zealand, the Azores, and from deep-sea sediments around Svalbard. The background is an eco-print made from fern and walnut leaves collected around Tromsø and Germany.

All these elements were blended to form a cohesive and hopeful image of life on a changing planet for this short course.
